Yoga & Movement Healing

Become more closely aligned with your true self.

Yoga allows us all time & space to figure out who we truly are, deep down, at our essence. Yoga invites us to be present with ourselves. To actively show up in our own lives, to take up space and to stand firmly grounded, rooted within ourselves.

In Sanskrit, the word “yoga” means “to yoke.” More closely translated, it means to join together, indicating a union. The specific meaning of “union” is up for interpretation; however, as per Yogic scriptures such as the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, and between Human & Nature.

Yoga also teaches that in order to find happiness, we must first find stillness and peace within. I have learned from 7+ years of yogic living (alternately practicing and teaching) the truth of that statement. We can only achieve that internal peace when our thoughts, words and actions are in alignment with each other and with our values.

Even further, magic can happen when our hearts, minds and bodies are aligned with the one true Spirit of the Universe that resides within us all in the form of a unique, individual soul. We are all the same. We all are energy.

We all are stewards of Life here on Earth, and as such, I believe we have a responsibility to take care of the “vessel” or the “channel” that we have (aka our bodies and our voices and our minds). I invite you to discover what your unique journey to inner physical, mental, emotional and spiritual alignment will look like; I am here to help illuminate the path forward and be a guide and trusted resource as we traverse together the greatest path of Time.

Express yourself fully to find freedom.

You can expect to work up a sweat jamming out to a blend of some upbeat, uplifting, groovy, funky, chill, mellow tunes (depending on your mood / vibe!) by some extremely talented, inspired, connected, and evolved musical artists from all across the globe, enchanting you in many languages while all speaking the same universal truth of love and light — allowing you to tap into that abundant, universal energy or flowstate to find nirvana, inner peace.

“The aim of yoga is to eliminate the control that material nature exerts over the human spirit, to rediscover through introspective practice what the poet T.S. Eliot called the ‘still point of the turning world.’ This is a state of perfect equilibrium and absolute spiritual calm, an interior refuge in the chaos of worldly existence.”

Rosalie’s Yogic Journey

I began my journey toward yoga in 2012, after I stopped dancing. I felt lost without movement, but couldn’t endure the physical and psychological demands of my pre-professional ballet training any longer. When I discovered the healing yet challenging aspects of yoga, I was hooked — but not quite yet grounded.

I tried a few classes here and there at a few local studios but none really stuck. I experimented with self-paced teaching through “taking class” online with digital content creators and active teachers like Kino MacGregor, Cat Meffan, Talia Sutra, and more but found I needed (and wanted) the guidance of a knowledgeable eye and hand in real-time.

Then at college, I discovered the vibrancy of the Yoga Club, and would go to classes whenever offered. I became close with a few of my favorite “regular” teachers, and they encouraged my burgeoning love of and deep interest in the practice of yoga.

I made a promise to myself that I would become a teacher within the next 5 years. Little did I know that I would surprise myself by accomplishing that goal 4 years early! (thanks, Universe!! <3)

Within a year of taking my first class with Yoga Club at college, I received my certification as a registered yoga teacher myself. At the time, I had never felt more proud of myself than at the graduation ceremony, after so much sweat and so many tears in that space — as I walked out the door feeling like a completely different person. It was the feeling of accomplishment of having done well by oneself.

I had walked in the first day nervous, unsure of myself, questioning why I was even there, and scared to speak in front of strangers, let alone lead a yoga class. I left that final day feeling the complete opposite.

That fall back on campus, I found myself, at the front of the room, already a teacher. I was impressed and relieved at how natural it felt, to be finally using my voice and my body for good, in a way that reflects my values and allows my true inner self to shine through.

Time and again, I have felt lost in the world and unsure of my path. And yet time and again, I have found followed my intuition to find my own center within myself. And that’s truly the practice of yoga.

I have been blessed to have had several wonderful teaching experiences and to have been a part of others’ journeys of self-discovery, self-acceptance and self-love — it truly brings me so much joy!

I invite you to come find your inner shine with me and let’s flow together ◡̈
